"Banks that have their hands out in Washington this year were handing out multimillion-dollar rewards to their executives last year. The 116 banks that so far have received the taxpayer dollars to boost them through this economic crisis gave their (greedy) top tier executives nearly $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses and in other benefits in 2007, as an Associated Press analysis found. That amount, spread among the 600 highest paid bank executives, would cover the bailout money given to 53 of the banks that have shared the $188 billion that Washington has doled out in rescue packages so far. We don't fight this with violence, with rioting. We don't fight this by smashing windows and tarring & feathering the guys who robbed us all of our futures. We just don't. And we also do not fight this through non-violent protest. We don't march in the streets to have our voices heard, because there are no laws to change, no policies to reverse. We're not looking to reform the system, we're looking to punish those who have stolen from us while simultaneously building a new future for ourselves and for our kids. (Not saying millions will not resort to these tactics) Here's how we fight this: We create a world in which the wealth accumulated by these criminals has no value. We develop our own currencies---local and regional---our own trade associations, our own sources for goods and services. And we treat the dollar as we have come to treat the currency of the Confederacy: as a collector's item at best, but worthless as an instrument of commerce. We agree as a nation of people, who have been robbed and hung out to try by a class of robber-barons, that we will organize our own systems of commerce and social interactions. And the wealthiest among us, the thieves and scoundrels, will in a moment become one of us. Their millions will be worthless, and eventually we will forgive them their greed, and they will either join us in building a new world or they will perish in obscurity and solitude and delusion, forever grasping to wealth that no longer exists". The wise authors of this common sense article are brave. Imagine if you were a merchant in Iceland or hotel owner with the banks closed and the credit cards to no avail. If you were one of those businesses that operate 90% on credit card receipts then you would have a big problem. We are faced with a major crisis. If you think you can pass through this fire without being burned you are totally mistaken. Israel has attacked the Gaza Strip and killed 200 people in a terrible massacre much like we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is no doubt they are using our weapons of mass destruction to kill innocent people. I see no hope for peace in this entire region. We can surely expect to see the battle of Armageddon in the near future.
